Carbon Block filters - How they work
Carbon filters remove harmful chemicals from your water by absorbing them into the filter. The slower you run water through a carbon filter, the more efficiently it will remove the chemicals. Carbon Block filters are made from Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) and formed into a solid block filter. This brilliant design gives them over 14 times more internal surface area (within the pores), than normal granular GAC filters, to absorb harmful chemicals,. They also do not suffer from water channelling which reduces the efficiency of traditional loose-fill granular GAC filters.
What does a Carbon Block filter remove?
The filter can removes Chlorine plus Herbicides, Pesticides, Trihalomethanes, Chloroform, Benzene, Hydrogen Sulphide (odour), Discolouration, Sand, Silt, Rust and other particulates and many other chemicals found in your drinking water, leaving it crystal clear and fresh - like mineral water. The filter does not remove the essential minerals that are necessary for good health and good flavour.
